Recto and Verso

Verso and Recto

In the publishing world, the words verso and recto describe sides.

Recto is an odd-numbered page on the right-hand side of a book.
Verso is an even-numbered page on the left-hand side of a book.

Recto is the front of sheet of paper and verso is the backside.

A title page is on the recto followed by the copyright page on the verso.
