IT THINKS FOR YOU

From ChatGPT

Artificial Intelligence is here

and it’s more sophisticated than you think

Open AI has created ChatGPT. Today I used the latest, version three.

Basically, you ask it a question and it will reply. It’s not like Siri or Alexa; it thinks for you!

Below are three questions I asked:

How do I write an article for authors?

If you want to write an article for authors, here are some steps you can follow:

  1. Choose a topic that is relevant and interesting to authors. For example, you could write about the benefits of attending writing conferences, or the importance of networking in the publishing industry.

  2. Do some research to gather information and supporting evidence for your article. You can use books, articles, and websites to learn more about your topic.

  3. Organize your information into a clear and logical structure. Start with an introduction that presents your topic and provides some background information. Then, present your main points in the body of the article, using examples and evidence to support your ideas.

  4. Use a professional and engaging tone in your writing. Avoid using jargon or technical language that may be confusing to your readers. Instead, aim to write in a way that is clear and easy to understand.

  5. Conclude your article by summarizing your main points and providing some final thoughts on your topic. You could also include suggestions for further reading or ways that authors can learn more about the subject.

  6. Edit and proofread your article carefully to ensure that it is free of errors and easy to read. You may want to ask a friend or colleague to read it and give you feedback.

  7. Once you are satisfied with your article, you can submit it to a publication or website that is focused on authors or the publishing industry. Alternatively, you could publish it on your own blog or website.

What makes the best fake snow?

The best fake snow is typically made from a material that looks and feels like real snow, but is easy to clean up and doesn’t melt.

One common material used to make fake snow is a substance called “instant snow powder,” which is made from a type of polymer that can absorb many times its weight in water. When the powder is mixed with water, it expands to form a fluffy, snow-like substance that can be used for decoration or in science experiments.

Other materials that are commonly used to make fake snow include shredded foam, cotton balls, and paper or plastic snowflakes. These materials can be combined to create a realistic-looking snow effect, but may not have the same tactile qualities as real snow.

What is OpenAI?

OpenAI is a research institute that focuses on developing and promoting artificial intelligence technologies that are safe and beneficial to humanity.

It was founded in 2015 by a group of researchers and entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk and Sam Altman.

OpenAI conducts research in a wide range of areas, including machine learning, robotics, and economics, and has developed several highly advanced AI systems, such as GPT-3, which is one of the largest and most powerful language models in the world.

OpenAI’s mission is to advance and promote AI research and development in a responsible and ethical manner.

Just think of the possibilities – research for your book, plans for a trip

And then think of the other possibilities  – writing a term paper

This is the future with the good and the bad.

  1. My first thought , when I read the title: “Thank god someone (or something) is thinking for us since we seem to be doing such a shitty job of it” re: climate change, culture wars, real wars, etc.etc.
Then I read that Mr Musk is behind it. Thanks anyway, but I’ll take my chances with humans who have a heart and a brain and sometimes even use them simultaneously vs. someone who is all brain and no heart.

  2. I agree with you Joe. Marsha either sounds angry or just doesn’t like Elon Musk.
Open AI is interesting, but I’d rather do my own thinking while I can.

    1. Not angry. But I have zero faith in him when AI is involved. I believe he has a single goal and that is to feed his oversized ego.
