When the phone rang that late Friday afternoon in September, I answered without thought. I shouldn’t have been surprised when I heard what my doctor had to say. After all, I’d already had an ultrasound, an MRI, and a needle-biopsy, but my innate optimism, my desire to always find a half-filled glass even among its broken shards, left me hopeful for good news. I wasn’t ready for, “You have breast cancer.”

BookExpo 2022

BookExpo2022 is Scheduled to January 30, 2022

The last live and in-person BookExpo was in January 2020 led by Villages writer and management guru Jack Hayes. The 2021 edition was cancelled in the midst of Covid-19, lack of vaccines, widespread fear and rising cabin fever. Now, postpandemic (we hope!) the BookExpo is on again and scheduled for Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Eisenhower Recreational Center in The Villages.
